CAMP MAXEY, TX – After 7
long days of hard work, the day everyone had been waiting for had
arrived. Sunday, June 24, found everyone busy cleaning up the barracks
and packing their things. After the barracks had been cleaned, and
everyone had eaten breakfast, the cadets changed into their blues and
headed out to the PIR field for one last Pass-In-Review practice. At
1100 parents began filing in, anxious to see their kids after a long
week. At 1145, Pass-In-Review began, and the parents watched as their
cadets marched across the field, proud of what they had accomplished.
After Pass-In-Review, the cadets marched back to the barracks where they
changed and went through out-processing. After all of the basics had
left, the barracks was inspected once more by the Camp Maxey unit to
ensure that everything was in its proper place. Finally, at 1400, the
staff began to leave, and the 2007 Texas Wing Summer Encampment came to
a close.
