- San Angelo Civil Air Patrol Composite Squadron TX-023 celebrated
Veterans Day by participating in the fourth Annual San Angelo Veterans
Day parade.
Under a beautiful blue sky, the parade opened with a two-ship formation
of F-16's from Kelly Air Force Base in San Antonio performing a fly-by
while thousands of cheering people, young and old, lined the streets
waving and saluting.
Along
with 90 organizations from the local area, and Air Force, Army, Navy,
and Marine Corps personnel from Goodfellow Air Force Base, the San
Angelo Composite Squadron float, a mock-up of the squadron Cessna 172,
snaked through downtown San Angelo while cadets and seniors walked the
route, handing out candy and information about the Civil Air Patrol to
parade-goers.
"I am proud to lead this group of patriotic cadets. Through their Civil
Air Patrol studies, they know and understand that our freedom was and is
purchased by the American Military Veteran," stated Maj Maurice Clement,
TX-023 Squadron Commander.

who participated in the parade were C/SMSgt Linden Lansford, C/SSgt
Matthew Barnes, C/A1C Cody McCallum, C/A1C Jared Goecker, C/Amn Sean
McCallum, and C/Amn Dylan Simkins.
